We are back on New Year's Rockin Eve, and we are so honored that joining us right now are two very special guests, President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden. Mr. President, Dr. Biden, thank you so much for being with us tonight. Happy New Year. Happy New Year. Nice to see you. So I just curious, I want to go back. What was the first New Year's Eve like together between the two of you? Well, it was with family. I think we all got the whole family got together and ordered a meal, and -- and we just celebrated the New year together. And it's been that way ever since, right, Joe? It has been. You know, we we weren't married yet, and Jill was at the house and my mom and dad came over and family, and, you know, my dad used to have an expression, he'd say family is the beginning, the middle and the end. Matter of fact, if you saw here in the studio, we have two of our grandchildren with us right now on New Year's Eve. My father would agree with that as well. So, as we look forward to a new year, 2023, what is the message you both have for everybody watching tonight? Optimism. I'm never been more optimistic about America in my whole career. And, you know, the interesting thing is, we've been through so much, so much difficulty, the pandemic, the flu, a whole range of things. And look how the American people fought back and they got up, and -- and there's nothing that can hold them down. We're the most unique country in the world. We're a product of -- that's what we believe in. And so I just think I'm --- I'm really optimistic. And my message is to commit to an act of kindness. And whether that's to teachers or military families or nurses -- Local law enforcement. Yes. Law enforcement, to commit to an act of kindness and to take care of one another and especially take care of your health this year. Go get that COVID vaccine, and get your flu shot. You better listen to her. Well, we are looking forward to a big celebration tonight. Thank you very much for being with us. Happy New Year. Happy New Year. Happy New Year Ryan. And to all of America. To all Americans. All right. Take good care.
