[Joe Biden conducted his weekly interview with Tammy, a health care professional from Michigan. No last name was provided for Tammy or her family. The video is as released by The White House.] Well, I think we're gonna be able to pass the, the bill, which would get you a direct check for $7,000. Oh, wow. That would be wonderfully appreciated. I'm a single mother of four children, and I am a healthcare professional. The stimulus package of $1,400 would do a lot for my household, being that I am the only source of income. It would help me pay some bills, rent, light, gas, and also, this will my family gain more healthier food options. Hey, Tammy. How are you doing? I'm okay. How are you? I was told that you wanna buy fruits and vegetables and healthy food for your kids. I'm one of the people that was trying to balance paying bills and feeding my kids or, you know, getting the healthier choices versus what they really gotta have. Sometimes I have to put back a bag of apples versus getting a pack of meat, because the finance wasn't there. You know? People are in trouble through no fault of their own. I think we're gonna be -- you're gonna be in good shape. I think we're gonna be able to pass the, the bill, which would get you a direct check for $7,000 [Crosstalk]. Oh, wow. That would be wonderfully appreciated. 1,400 bucks for you, and 1,400 bucks for each of your children. You know, there's an awful lot of parents having real difficulty, particularly if you're raising kids basically by yourself, like you are. I'm literally burning candles at both ends, and I never show my kids' teachers the level of appreciation I have for them, but I definitely, definitely- [Crosstalk] -- got it this year, yes. On the start of the pandemic, I locked my kids inside the house. We have gone absolutely nowhere since last year of March. I've been holding true to self-quarantining and practicing social distancing. I have face masks. It's really important that if you get a chance to get that -- the vaccine, you get it. You and a lot of people like you are the people that are keeping this country going. Think of all the people who have been able to stay home because of people like you going out there and risking and taking care of people and takin- and getting things done. Yeah, the kids are here. This is my son, Omar. He's 11. Hey, Ben. How are you doing? Good. You take care of Mom? Mm-hmm. This is my mom. Hey, Mom. How are you? How are you doing? I'm great. And you? I'm well for seeing you guys. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me and I hope that the help that's on the way in terms of these direct cash payments to food assistance and the rest, I hope it helps. If I'm out in your city and you see me, don't say, "Joe who?" Okay? Don't pretend you don't know, all right? Oh, never. [Laughs] I'm gonna holler across the parking lot. Thank you so much. Stay safe.
